Susan Klein

Web experience

Susan is a member of the Alaska Button Box Gang, a button accordion band, and was interested in expanding the horizons of the band through the internet. Thus, Susan learned how to create and set up a website. She started with Adobe Page Maker and moved on to Dreamweaver as her experience grew.

Due to this interest, in 2004 when the Alaska Natural Heritage Program at UAA needed a person to take over as webmaster, Susan was tapped for the job. She assisted with the original website and was lead on revamping and updating the website. In 2006 she also began working on other websites and webpages for other programs within the Environment and Natural Resources Institute (ENRI) creating websites for the Aquatic Ecology Program and the Stable Isotope Lab using Dreamweaver, and using the UAA content management system to create websites for ENRI programs and faculty fellows associated with the Institute. Although she no longer updates some of these websites she continues her interest in learning different web technologies.

A list of websites Susan continues to work on is at the right.

Recently Susan began using Word Press for work on the annual NUSA (Neighborhoods USA) 2011 Conference held in Anchorage in May 2011 and the newly updated Alaska Natural Heritage Program website (designed and set up by Axiom Consulting and Design)
